What is the aim of the awards?

The Catholic Home Education Awards have been established to encourage home-educated children in a love of their Faith, through a creative and fun competition that will also create a bigger sense of community among home-educated families through the awards..

Who organises the  Awards?

The Home Education Awards are organised and created by the Knights of Saint Columbanus, Council 3, a council based in and around Belfast. As the Awards have grown over the years, additional support has been generously given by others, including CK15 from Waterford, who assist with the sports day, and the Sister Adorers, who kindly host the event. We are also deeply grateful to all the wonderful volunteers who give their time and energy on the day.


These Awards are run with the aim of encouraging home-educated children in their faith and fostering a strong sense of community among home-educating families.


The Knights of Saint Columbanus is an Irish Catholic fraternal organisation founded in 1915. Its mission is to promote Christian values, support faith-based education, and encourage active involvement in community and charitable works. The Knights place a strong emphasis on family life, moral formation, and service to society, working closely with parishes, schools, and local communities in Ireland and abroad.hat will also create a bigger sense of community among home-educated families through the awards..
